Sustainable and small-scale fisheries
Like food systems writ large, fishing is one of those industries with a dual structure: few large, capital intensive, global firms vs. a myriad of very small, local, undercapitalized ones. Labs look into ways to support the latter, hitting on the integration between artisanal fishing and tourism (Cape Verde, Mauritius, Barbados) and aquaculture (Bangladesh, Lesotho)
